Rise Against – Make It Stop

Nu ştiam de existenţa acestei trupe punk-rock americane până când am nimerit melodia “Make it stop ( September’s children)” pe UTV. Versurile şi mesajul transmis au contat foarte mult în adăugarea acestei melodii în playlist (dacă vă întrebaţi ce program folosesc, recomand cu cea mai mare plăcere jetAudio – este super şi gratuit), devenind una pe care o ascult des şi una dintre melodiile favorite.

Videoclipul a fost nominalizat de MTV la categoria “Best Video with a Message”, ediţia 2011 – Video Music Awards.

Melodia face parte de pe ultimul album, “Endgame”. Nu are decat vreo 4 000 000 de vizualizari, dacă adunăm primele rezultate de pe YouTube.

“Endgame is notable for being the first album to establish Rise Against’s stance on homophobia with the third song on the album, “Make It Stop (September’s Children),” which references the September 2010 suicides of teenagers in the LGBT** community**, specifically mentioning Tyler Clementi, Billy Lucas, Harrison Chase Brown, Cody J. Barker, and Seth Walsh. Upon the album’s release, the band put a message on their website inviting listeners to apply the songs’ messages to current events, in addition to those on which they were originally based.”*

Vocalistul Tim Mcllrath, liderul trupei, a declarat că” this song can apply to anybody who is feeling so tormented that they feel like there’s no place for them in the future and that killing themselves is a better option.”***
